Passing the lantern of consecrated life to the women God is calling to Himself.

Consecrated Religious Life is light-giving, light-catching, and light-bearing. One evening, a man sat with his friend watching a lamplighter go from lamp to lamp lighting up the ever-darkening streets. As dusk turned to night, the figure of a lamplighter soon disappeared, but at each lamp he stopped at, he left a lamp burning brightly. These lamps could be seen for miles, lighting up the roads in the city. The man turned to his friend and said, "That is what I mean by a real Christian. You can trace his course by the light he leaves burning." When the streets are dark in our souls, the St. Mary Sisters strive to spread the light of Christ by enkindling it in each person they meet so as to help each person be a living lantern shedding the light of God in a dark world.
